Choosing the Best Survival Knife

When choosing the best survival knife, there are a few things to watch out for.

Many less experienced survivalists are awed by the huge Rambo type knives… and it could very well be because of the movie!

But I can assure you that if you are trying to get somewhere, especially in the wilderness, you will NOT want to be carrying some huge, clumsy, over-sized knife along.

             And then there is the attractive hollow handled survival knife, filled with all kinds of fascinating gadgets inside the big empty handle.

While this may be the perfect tool for the folks that only camp once in a blue moon, or for your teenage sons, (my boys LOVE these knives!) this empty handled survival knife will let you down if you need to do any serious cutting with it.

The best survival knife will have the tang go all the way through (or at least most of the way) your knife from handle to tip.
