There are some great sore throat home remedies you can try as a sore throat cure but keep in mind… these are simply HOME REMEDIES!
I am personally a HUGE fan of home remedies for EVERYTHING, but the doctors are there for a reason, and if you think you have a sore throat due to an infection or like a viral bacteria, you may need a perscription medicine.
The BEST sore throat remedy I have ever used is a simple drink and actually not ONLY a great sore throat cure but also a great home remedy for sinus infection.
Mix:
8 oz. Apple Juice
3 T Apple Cider Vinegar
Add a pinch of baking soda to kill the bite of the vinegar and it also sorta carbonates the mixture so that it feels really good on your throat!
Mix well and take this natural remedy for sore throat as often as needed.
It is so simple and it WORKS!
Wrap a big raw cabbage leaf around your neck (several small cabbage leaves works too) – tie it on with something like a thin scarf, leave on for an hour or so. It is supposed to draw out the pain.
Squeeze a lemon into a coffee cup, add a tsp of salt and fill with HOT water – sip and let it soothe your sore throat.
ANY green tea with LOTS of honey is a great sore throat home remedy.
Another tea mixture for sore throats is by filling a mug half full of hot water, add a pinch of ginger, a few squirts of lemon juice (juice from REAL lemons is better) and a tablespoon of honey. Mix and sip.
Sip on an ice pop – sometimes the COLD is a better soother than the hot. There are some natural ice pops out actually called ThroatCoolers that are great to use as a home remedy for sore throats.
Put pure honey on a tablespoon – add a LIGHT PINCH of cayenne pepper and suck on it.
Wash a PEAR and eat it SLOWLY with the skin on, letting the juices run down your sore throat . Eat about 3 or so in a day.
Soak a washcloth in rubbing alcohol, wet but not dripping, and wrap around your neck. Sleep with it wrapped around your neck. You might want to sleep on a heavy towel to protect your sheets. It sounds like a crazy sore throat home remedy, but it works and the worse thing you have to deal with is the smell.
I tried using the Netti Pot recently for a sinus infection and it worked wonderfully. They are a bit tricky to use and once I discovered that I needed to hold my tongue tight against the roof of my mouth as I let the Netti Pot drip thru my nosrils.
It felt really great once it was done… and there are some great youtube videos on using the netti pot if you are curious what it is.. To buy one, simply go to Amazon and grab one, unless you can get one locally, but using a netti pot of some sort is a great home remedy for both sore throat and sinus infections.
